PHI DELTA THETA

CALIFORNIA RHO - UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE

About

HISTORY

Chartered in 1995 at the University of La Verne
Phi Delta Theta was built on three pillars since the Fraternity was founded in 1848 at Miami University: friendship, sound learning, and moral rectitude.

HAZING POLICY

Phi Delta Theta does not condone any form of hazing. It is contrary to the purpose of Fraternity, and members can still achieve a close group of men throughout the organization without hazing.

SCHOLARSHIP

Phi Delta Theta consistently has one of the most impressive groups of brothers who are well rounded in their social and academic lives with the highest GPA among all fraternities on campus: 3.15

PHILANTHROPY

Our chapter reflects community through close involvement with the ALS Association by hosting an annual ALS Week and 24-hour Teeter Totter event, as well as working in conjunction with local ALS 5K events to raise funds to benefit Lou Gerhig’s disease research.

INVOLVEMENT

We believe in active leadership on campus and involvement in a variety of different activities. Our brothers are involved in a wide range of on-campus organization such as: Associated Students of the University of La Verne (ASULV), Campus Activity Board (CAB), and Order of Omega honors society.

CHAPTER AWARDS

California Rho has a strong tradition of being an award winning chapter both on campus and with Phi Delta Theta. With over 50 active members, we are a top fundraising organization, and live up to the high expectations of the University of La Verne and General Headquarters for being an outstanding chapter.

BROTHERHOOD

The brotherhood present in the California Rho chapter of Phi Delta Theta is unparalleled, as a result of the numerous brotherhood events planned every semester. One of the easiest ways to build the brotherhood felt between each member of Phi Delta Theta is to spend time together participating in various activities to create shared experiences.

ALUMNI

Stay Connected

At California Rho, we pride ourselves in maintaining strong relationships with our alumni across the globe. Each semester we publish several alumni newsletters, in which we highlight chapter news, upcoming alumni events, and have a few personal stories from our alumni around the country. Every semester we focus on practical application of alumni relations. We hold our annual Homecoming Tailgate on the Maineiro Parking Lot every fall. This event brings together alumni from around the country and allows for current undergraduate brothers to network and learn from their older counterparts. This event always allows us to reflect on the greater teachings of the fraternity and allows us to celebrate the greater Phi Delt organization.
